THE BENCH: "THE HEART OF THE WARRIORS"

With rhythmic contractions and the constant flow of production, the Warriors bench has stopped the bleeding and given life back to the Warriors. The Warriors got back to their winning ways with two victories this past weekend against Ft. Belvoir on Saturday and Bolling Air Force Base on Sunday. The Warriors hit the road to face Ft. Belvoir and found themselves in a tough situation in the second half when both Andre Hall and Bobby Driver got into foul trouble. Coach Banks had to make the decision to sit both and go with the bench to win this game. Once again Sean Clemmons and Michael Monroe came up big, scoring over 20 points collectively. Both players led the charge earning the Warriors a much needed win with the score of 65-60.

On Sunday, the Warriors were back at home to face a young Bolling Air Force Base team. The Warriors got off to a very quick start behind the All Army prospects Andre Hall and Bobby Driver. The Warriors rode the back of Hall who filled the stat sheet with 12 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, and two steals, while shooting a remarkable 100% from the free throw line. After the game Hall said, “When I can get the ball early in the offensive set I can put up these types of numbers.” Coach Banks added, “We must continue to run everything through our big man until we get a couple of players back from injury.” Bobby Driver added more fire power with 28 points, six rebounds, one block, and one steal as he continues the light up the opposition from all over the court. Michael Monroe chipped in 10 points, four rebounds, two assist, and two steals as he continues to play very well as his minutes have been increased. The return of veteran Montoya Wooten with seven points, four rebounds, and one assist gave the Warriors a lift off the bench as well.

The Warriors are still developing point guards Quantarius Burns (five points, four turnovers, three assists, two rebounds, two steals) and Phillip Buoy (six rebounds, four assists, two steals, two points, two turnovers) who are struggling, averaging 7.5 assist per game and 6.5 turnovers per game in the last two home games collectively. Coach Banks remains confident that both Buoy and Burns will be able to lead this team in its final regular season game on the road against Quantico this Saturday at 1pm. Coach Banks must address the biggest problem facing the Warriors which is turning the ball over. Against Bolling the Warriors turned the ball over 21 times which allowed Bolling to make the game seem closer than what it was and the Warriors won by only ten points 68-58.

The WAMAC Championship will kick off on the weekend of April 11-12 at Ft. Meade. If the season ended today the warriors would enter the “BIG DANCE” with the second seed. To add insult to injury the Warriors will be without Sean Clemmons who was placed on the injury reserve list after suffering an ankle injury and will be out for 3-4 weeks. The Warriors are hoping to get Small Forward Michael Smith back from a shoulder injury before the tournament; he has been sidelined for the last three games.

The Warriors are playing good team basketball and are finding ways to win these games. The “BIG TWO” of Driver and Hall are doing all they can to keep the Warriors afloat, but the supporting cast will be the determining factor of how far this team will go. Lance Boulware and Montoya Wooten must find their offense early and take some of the scoring pressure off of Driver. Walter Reed’s Sports Director Mr. Richard Tatem gave Coach Banks some good news; we will receive a new player this week that can “FLAT OUT PLAY!” STAY TUNED!!

AND YOU THOUGHT THE ECONOMY WAS BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this was politics, congress would send WRAMC a BAIL OUT PACKAGE for the Warrior Basketball Team with both republicans and democrats agreeing by a landslide. The Warriors are on a downward spiral and will eventually hit rock bottom if this stimulus package doesn’t reach the Walls of Wagner in time! Last weekend the Warriors faced Ft. Lee and Quantico. The Warriors traveled to Ft. Lee and came away with another close victory winning 69-65. The buzz within the team is that even though we win the games we are not playing as a team. This concept showed its ugly head against the Devil Dogs on Sunday. Quantico had only one thing on their minds and that was to beat the Warriors. The Warriors came out on a mission behind the play of Lance Boulware who ended up with 12 pts, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals by the end of regulation. The Warriors went into the half up 38-33.

During the second half the Warriors breakdown started with turning the ball over. The Warriors had a grand total of 18 turnovers and shot a miserable 55% from the free throw line. The Warriors swingman Bobby Driver suffered a game ending head injury leaving the Warriors to find another offensive hero to carry them in crunch time. Driver ended up with a game high 16 points while grabbing six rebounds. The offense for the Warriors was in disarray but was helped by the play of Sean Clemmons who scored 10 points in the second half and overtime. The Warriors were up by three points but Quantico hit a lucky three pointer sending the game into overtime.

In overtime Quantico continued to dominate with physical play. The Warriors seemed mentally fatigued and could not find any offense from big man Andre Hall who finished the game with only nine points shooting a miserable 25% from the field. Collectively, the Warriors field goal percentage was less than 43%. Down the stress starting point guard Quantarius Burns missed some key shots and added some crucial turnovers as well. Burns finish the game with 12 points, six assists, four turnovers, three rebounds, and one steal. The marines of Quantico physically and mentally overpowered the Warriors, winning in overtime 82-78.

Coach Banks has challenged this team to look deep within, questioning their loyalty and commitment to the team. Banks emphasizes that a warrior is defined as a person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness, as in politics or athletics. The Warriors are the best dysfunctional winning team that WRAMC has ever seen. The Warriors will hit the court this weekend against Ft. Belvoir (away game) on Saturday and Bolling AFB (home game) on Sunday with both games starting at 1pm.

The odds will be against the Warriors with two injuries to Michael Smith (shoulder) and Bobby Driver (concussion) who are both among the teams leading scorers in almost every game. Will the supporting cast of Michael Monroe, Joel Riley, and Phillip Buoy be able to elevate their games to the next level to help the Warriors win? Will Coach Banks be able to tame these toxic assets that curse this team? It is up to all of us to help the Warriors get back on track because at some point in time we will all NEED TO BE BAILED OUT!

WAKE UP WARRIORS!!!!

The Warriors split the two games this weekend but their performance was nothing to hang their hats on. The entire weekend the Warriors played as if they were in a trance. The first game against Ft. Lee the Warriors were down by 17 points within the first five minutes of the game. In the second game against McGuire Air Force Base the Warriors were also down by 15 points within the first five minutes of the game. The drive of the Warriors comes and goes; you really do not know what type of play this team will bring from game to game. One minute the Warriors are considered the best team in the WAMAC and then the next the Warriors are the most dysfunctional bunch of individuals to walk into the gym. Every player on this team will need to reevaluate its role and basically GET WITH THE PROGRAM!

Now back to the game, Ft. Lee dominated the Warriors in every statistical category except the final score. The only bright spot to the Warriors game was by the bench play of Sean Clemmons, Peter Cudjoe and Joel Riley. The Warriors were without their starting shooting guard Brian Hill, but Lance Boulware did an excellent job filling in for him. Michael Smith kept the Warriors within striking distance in the first half by scoring 16 of his game high 22 points.

At the start of the second half the Warriors were down by seven points and needed to play better defense to grab control of this game. During a critical stretch in the second half Sean Clemmons and Peter Cudjoe scored ten straight points collectively giving the Warriors the lead for the first time! Lance Boulware added 14 points of his own and hit two big three pointers and it seemed as if the Warriors would extend the lead and dominate the game from this point on. But Ft. Lee did not fold and they went back inside and tied the game with ten seconds left. Coach Banks called a time out and the play was set, a back door lob to Bobby Driver. Quantarius Burns got the ball and saw that the play wasn’t there and took a shot and missed with 1.1 seconds left on the clock. After a turnover by Ft. Lee the Warriors got the ball underneath the basket and Andre Hall got the ball to Michael Smith who was fouled in the act of shooting the ball with 0.1 seconds left on the clock. At the free throw line Smith missed the first one but nailed the second one winning the game for the Warriors 69-68 in a nail biter! Bobby Driver and Andre Hall also chipped in with 14 and 10 points respectively.

After the game the Ft. Lee players questioned the decision making of the referees for calling a foul in crunch time in a game of this magnitude. Even some of the Warriors would say that the last foul should not have been called in that situation. Coach Banks told his players that the officiating had nothing to do with the outcome of this game because both teams made careless mistakes down the stretch and the win could have went either way and we should just be grateful that we got the call on the last play. Coach Banks was just glad that his team came out victorious even though this was one of the worst performances his team has played this year.

On Sunday the Warriors traveled to New Jersey to face McGuire Air Force Base. To sum this game up the Warriors continued to play horrendous basketball. McGuire got an early lead and never looked back. The Warriors big man Andre Hall got tossed and with the double digit turnovers, the Warriors could not get back into the game and tasted yet another defeat. The Warriors will need to put aside all the egos and just play basketball or face another disappointing season. Andre Hall summed it up best by saying, “If we don’t play defense and start hustling on every play we will never when a championship because offensive wins games and DEFENSE wins CHAMPIONSHIPS!”

This weekend Ft. Lee will get another chance to redeem themselves against the Warriors on their home court on Saturday at 1pm. Then on Sunday the Warriors will be back home to face Quantico at 1pm. Hopefully the Warriors will be able to work out some of their shortcomings and get back to playing inspired basketball!

THE MONKEY IS NO MORE!

The monkey has been removed from the backs of the Warriors. Over the weekend the Warriors faced their nemesis Fort Meade and another tough team in Fort Belvoir. The game against Fort Meade was the final regular season game between the two. The Warriors knew that if we didn’t get this win it would surely be devastating to the remainder of the season. The game started off like a sea saw battle with the lead changing several times. But behind the play of Bobby Driver and Michael Smith who poured in 20 and 16 points respectively the Warriors were up at half time by 13 points. During the second half the Warriors went inside to Andre Hall who dominated the entire second half with outstanding post play. Bobby Driver continued to light it up finishing the game with a total of 33 points. Not to be overlooked the bench production was present outscoring Fort Meade’s bench by 14 points. The final score was 101 to 87 signifying to the league that the WARRIORS ARE BACK IN BUSINESS!

The second game of the weekend was against Ft. Belvoir. The Warriors came in riding high on the previous victory against Meade but continued determined play. The Big Three of Bobby Driver, Michael Smith, and Andre Hall set the tone scoring 29, 20, and 15 points respectively by games end. The biggest contribution did not come from the players but from the real SIX MAN the FANS! Yes, the fans showed up this entire Dream Weekend. The true meaning of home court made the difference in both of these games this weekend. To finally hear the cheers coming from the stands made each Warrior play even harder. The boost from the fans helped the Warriors win the game 80 to 63 capping off the greatest weekend in Warrior history!

This weekend the Warriors will face Ft. Lee, Saturday at 3pm and McGuire AFB in New Jersey at 1pm on Sunday. Fort Lee is currently second in the WAMAC and is eager to prove that they belong on the top. The Warriors must continue to key in on defense and play inspired team basketball. Come out and support the Warriors as this season GOES ROLLING ALONG and be a part of the BROTHERHOOD.

THE HELL WITH IT! I QUIT!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know the author of this piece but, it's made my day and I hope it does likewise for you. Enjoy...

It Is Okay To Quit!

Quit arguing with people about the same old foolishness!
-Respect their position and keep it moving!
Quit trying to pull people on your journey who don't want to travel with you!
-Either they believe in you and value you ...or they don't!
Quit gossiping about other people!
-Minding our own business should be a full time job!
Quit blaming each other for things that in the big picture aren't going to matter 3 weeks from now!
-Talk solutions...and then implement them!
Quit trying to change people! IT DOESN'T WORK!
Quit cussing people out when you know that they are just being the miserable and jealous people that they are!
Quit listening to the naysayers!
Quit making excuses about why you are where you are or why you can't do what you want to do!
Quit waiting on others to give you the answers...and start finding the answers for yourself!
It is okay to Quit when the end result will help the situation. I know they say that you will never Win if you QUIT but in this case you will Win if you Quit!

A BIG SURPRISE FROM HAWAII! ALOHA!

‘‘This was a team game. I couldn’t have done it without them,” Smalley said. ‘‘The whole team winning makes an MVP possible.”

This simple statement was made by the Llewellyn Smalley the best player in the WAMAC. After a good butt kicking I begin to wonder how this guy can be this good and not play professionally. So thanks to the World Wide Web the search was on to find the true meaning of Llewellyn Smalley. I could not believe my eyes when the results came in. This guy never played high school basketball but got the opportunity to play for Hawaii Pacific University. Years ago Smalley was dropping 50 against military teams one thousands miles from WRAMC! HPU coach, Coach Sellitto, gave him a chance and look at the destruction it has caused the Warriors.

One thing I can say Llewellyn Smalley is probably the best military player in the last decade or so. But the most remarkable thing about Smalley is the simple fact of how humble he is when it comes to basketball. He always talks about the team and how being a part of a team builds character. It is safe to say that Smalley has created an atmosphere of unity with his Patriots which magnifies their individual talents ten fold.

Now when it comes to defending this guy just keeping him under 30 points is an accomplishment. Understand that Smalley has played against NBA talent, is HPU’s all-time leading scorer, he is a two time All-American, HPU’s career leader in three point’s scored, and has played over seas against the top European talent.

So is it really a Massacre to suffer defeat to a talented individual that elevates every fiber in his teammates. Could the Warriors break even if we bring in our own All-American scorer? Does it say anything about our team being able to play in the same gym as Smalley?

They say Knowledge is Power so will this Knowledge of the real Llewellyn Smalley, Empower the Warriors to step up to the plate and knock off Goliath once and for all!

A SPOON FULL OF SUGAR, WILL HELP THIS BLOG GO DOWN!!!

Where do I begin America? This weekend the Warriors played in a civilian tournament at the University of Maryland. The stakes were high because the winner of this tournament would win a trip to Detroit Michigan to play for the National Basketball Championship, sponsored by PowerAde. When the Warriors registered to play it was unanimous that they would win it all. Unfortunately, there was another military team participating in this event that stole the spot light from the Warriors. Yes Fort Meade made their way to Turtle Town and what do you know; the RIVALRY CONTINUES!

The Warriors had no problem in pool play beating Bowie State and Towson. But there was no way that the Warriors could be proud of these wins because lets face it these are 19 and 20 year old boys. When the brackets came out thankfully Fort Meade wasn’t in our bracket but in the end we had to face each other in the Championship game. The Warriors had to play three games to make it to the championship which wasn’t a problem. Fort Meade got the first round bye and cruised their way to the championship as well. So the re-match was on, and the civilian world was brought into the rivalry of the two best military teams on the east coast.

Honestly I believed that many of my fellow teammates did not want to see Fort Meade again. But in the championship game it wasn’t the player’s of Meade that beat us but, in fact, it was the self destruction of the Warriors. It seems like every time that we play a team that is “flat out” better than us we fold. Instead of elevating our individual game we always alienate each other and point out all of the imperfections that disrupt our union. So carrying on with this tradition the next couple of key strokes will point out the “IMPERFECTIONS OF THE WARRIORS,” player by player.

1. Myself – I must hit the weight room harder b/c I was getting pushed around by guys half my size. Also I must play better one on one defense because all weekend I was on getting abused by everyone that I faced. I STOPPED NO ONE over the weekend. I must realize that my skills are diminishing and just being a role player is all that I am now. (Now that’s a tough one to swallow!)
2. Andre Hall - It is clear that you can not be stopped down low but as soon as you get tired your game goes from A+ to F-. Get in better shape which means working hard outside of practice. When you get tired your field goal and free throw percentages drop severely and you start making foolish mistakes. Also the way you speak to players on this team causes a big disruption in the balance of what this team is trying to accomplish. So tone it down during the games because you spark up friction throughout this team. You are a part of the chemistry meltdown on this team but no one will say anything to you because you are unstoppable and impossible to guard. So many of the players just keep their thoughts to themselves thinking that out of all the players you are the one that can and will not be replaced. You bash members on this team and demolish what little confidence that we do have and it shows by our play. Also the way you speak to the coach during the games isn’t helpful as well. So clean it up and build this team with your WORDS, not your PLAY!
3. Lamonte Harvin – It never fails with you when you are having a good game we are running on all cylinders. But when you decide that you don’t feel like playing or when you feel like you are not getting the ball you just stop playing on both ends of the court. But the most puzzling thing that I don’t understand is why doesn’t the coach sit you on the bench? Instead of just playing you end up walking away from the team. You could be a leader and anchor for this team but if you keep playing only when you want to we will never be a great team. And whatever bad blood you have with Bobby Driver, just address it and move on because it is affecting the team. I don’t know if you guys just dislike him or if you guys see so much potential being wasted that it is making all of you sick to your stomach. But please handle this issue A.S.A.P!
4. Bobby Driver – You are a great offensive talent better yet scoring talent. But if you do not work on your ball handling skills and GET SOME HEART you will not make it far. Stop letting people get under your skin with just words. I don’t understand how players on this team destroy your game more than the opponent. In a couple of games this weekend I don’t remember if you were even in the gym. If you are not scoring what are you doing? You must find another part to your game, I don’t care if it is rebounding, playing defense, or blocking shots please add something else to your game. But most of all tune out the players on this team and allow your game do the talking for you. Even on an average performance you are still better than half the people on the court. Just think if you put the finishing touches on your game……………??????
5. Brian Hill – We need more consistency out of you. Yeah you make three’s but not at a high percentage throughout the game. You must understand that when you are playing the point you must get everyone else involved and not just yourself. Right now you are the only guard that is actually scoring for us. Also you must work on your defense because that is the only weakness in your game. So work on your defensive game and use your quickness and speed to help this team where we need it the most.
6. Phillip Bouy – You are a point guard but there are times it seems like you don’t want the ball. Against better talent your game goes down but when we play weaker teams it seems like your confidence is through the roof. Stop getting so defensive when someone says something to you about your game. You are the one that said and I quote, “I am going to be the best guard in the WAMAC this year.” Now can you honestly say that you have been just that? YOU SAID IT NOT ME!
7. Mike Monroe – You are the malignancy on this team. You seat on the bench and point out every mistake that everyone else makes. You just keep planting a seed of disruption in the ears of everyone. You might think that you are helping this team but you are not. When you get in the game what exactly do you bring? All that talking on the bench does it translate to production on the court? But I must say you do hit your free throws. You might be saying the right stuff but please find a better way to present it to the team as a whole.
8. Quantarius Burns – What planet are you on right now? You could be the point guard that we need. You play defense, you handle the ball effectively, and you can get to the cup at will. But your decision making isn’t that good. If you will just realize that you are THE POINT GUARD, THE FLOOR GENERAL and you should make the decision that will build this team up. Stop listening to everyone else and just play ball like I know you can man. We have all the pieces and we just need you to bring them all together. I am putting it on your shoulders…. IF WE DON’T WIN IT IS YOUR FAULT… DEAL WITH IT.
9. Lance Boulware – I don’t know where your game has been but please find it. You use to be one the top players in this area better yet in this region. You were just crowned the MVP of the All-Star game. So tell me this where does all this talent go during a regular game? You always blame others but I put the blame on you for your fading play. Your confidence is no longer and it seems like you are afraid to shoot the ball. Get back to your old self and just play ball…. SHOOT THE BALL MAN!
10. Montoya Wooten – I know that you have been plagued with injuries but we still need you to play. You started off playing great basketball but lately where has your mind been. Yeah your minutes have dwindled but that is no excuse. Get recommitted to the game that you use to play because we need you and your veteran savvy.
11. Coach Banks – I don’t know how you are going to keep everyone on the same page. But good luck in doing so. I use to think to myself that if we had this type of coach things would be different but nothing changes. The reason why nothing changes is because it isn’t the coaches it is the players that are the problem. We think that we know everything and we don’t listen to anyone. Honestly I don’t think that any of us will change because we are all COWARDS when it comes to HUMILITY and TEAMWORK.
12. THE ENTIRE TEAM – Can we please stop acting like little boys when we play the game of basketball? We want to be tough guys with one another but we get pushed around by everyone else. Let’s stop crying and become MEN! Because if we keep this up we might as well cancel the season and sell Girl Scouts Cookies!

I know that this was a very long blog but hopefully these words will reach the hearts of the Warriors. If I offended any of you by the words of this blog than suck it up because the truth hurts sometimes. I don’t know why we let Fort Meade take away our pride and desire to play. I don’t know why we can dig deep and play hard against other teams and bend over backwards for Meade. This entire tournament teams said that it was unfair that Walter Reed was able to play in this tournament because we were too good. But little did they know that our kryptonite was in the gym as well. We will face Fort Meade for the fourth time this season, Saturday at 3pm here at Walter Reed. Will the Warriors be able to slay Goliath? Will the Warriors be able to face FEAR, DANGER and ADVERSITY and cast out the demons that are within this team? WHO KNOWS!
If you don’t believe that the words in this blog are true, just come out and see it firsthand because the TRUTH HAS SET ME FREE! AND I HOPE IT WILL DO THE SAME FOR YOU!

"MAYBE BASKETBALL"

The Warriors got another win today against Fort Myer. The game wasn’t that impressive but some key issues need to be addressed with this team. Our defense was so terrible, as if we were just playing not to lose. Coach Banks did his best to fire us up but nothing worked. Granted we were just better than the opposition we need a tune up on the offensive end. At times everyone takes bad shots and we need to focus on swinging the ball to get a better shot. Most teams are scared to play us man to man so they just sit in a 3-2 zone and pray that it will work. This zone causes us to just settle for jump shots and play a very slow game. Understanding this, the Warriors must continue to push the rock to get into an up-tempo type of game.

In the second half Coach Banks went with a smaller and quicker line up. We went into a full court press which wasn’t effective at all but we did get a spark on the offensive side of the game. With this small line up of Smitty, Clemmons, Hill, Boulware, and Driver we push the lead out to double digits. Not taking away anything from the BIGS on the team but there are times when this smaller line up will work. Driver got a slam dunk and it just crushed the spirits of Fort Myer. Once Fort Myer adjusted to the smaller line up Coach Banks countered bringing BIG HAUSS and Twin back into the game. The Warriors finished the game missing free throws down the stretch but holding Fort Myer off by a score of 77 to 70. (Please note that the Warriors continue to struggle making FREE THROWS! Hercules, Hercules lol)

Maybe the Warriors are looking ahead to this weekend’s tournament against the CIVILIAN SECTOR at the University of Maryland’s campus. Maybe the Warriors were hung over with the crowning of L. Boulware’s MVP trophy in the All Star game the day before. Maybe the Warriors wanted to help an old teammate that plays for Fort Myer the player known as PROSIS aka “P SIZZLE”. Maybe the Warriors are thinking that if we play bad that Coach Banks will figure out that we love running HERCULES at practice… YOU CAN’T SMOKE A ROCK!!!! One thing is for sure we will get another shot at Fort Meade in a couple of weeks and if we continue this type of “MAYBE BASKETBALL”………… you know what’s going to happen, just read BLOG #2.

There is a BROTHERHOOD that is being built with this team and the only question that remains is……….. WILL YOU BE A PART OF IT?

DIE REF'S DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Warriors have finally begun to play team basketball. Over the weekend the Warriors played in the Capital Classic sponsored by Coca Cola. Even though the Warriors didn’t win it all they played as a team and gave it their all. The Warriors ended up 2 and 1 in pool play earning them the second seed only to face our nemesis Fort Meade in the first round.
The Warriors knew that this game would be another tough one but we were confident that we could get the win. Fort Meade came out firing like they always do and it seemed that the Warriors would be done early. The referees didn’t help by calling touch fouls against the Warriors and allowing Fort Meade to just beat us up all game long. At the start of the game the Referees claimed that they were going to let us play tough but it seemed like that message was only for Fort Meade. By the half Fort Meade led by three.
The second half was very exciting and it showcased what each team did best. Fort Meade put on the signature press that caused several turnovers early. The Warriors hit some big shots and finally started to play defense. Late in the second half the Warriors were down by 10, Coach Banks called a time out to get our heads back in the game. He told us that we would not just give this game to them but if we continued to play hard we could close this gap and win this game. We came back out and did just that! We ending up closing the gap down to three and with seven seconds left we had a chance to send the game into overtime.
Okay, here was the game plan, Coach Banks wanted us to push the ball up and have our two best shooters come off screens looking for their shot. Lamont Harvin took the ball out and we had to go the entire length of the court. He passed the ball to Brian Hill who was getting bumped and fouled. Once over the half court line the play that we wanted wasn’t there, so Hill took it upon himself to make the shot. He pulled up from the three point line and kissed it off the glass for “THREE!” The gym went crazy; no one could believe that he made the shot, especially the Ref’s. They called Hill’s shot a two pointer and this was unbelievable. The referees said that they didn’t see the play and this was simply poor officiating. It took the scorers table to overturn the decision and they finally gave us the three pointer. We ended up getting the ball back after the shot because of a turnover by Fort Meade. We had a shot to win this game!
We took the ball out underneath our basket and had the best play called for us. Big man Andre Hall passed the ball to L. Harvin who had a great look but just missed it by inches sending the game to overtime. In overtime, Fort Meade dominated us from the tip off. Their two man game plus the three referees was just too much for us to handle. I don’t know where these referees came from but they did not call this game fairly. The Warriors down low game got fouled on every possession, but no calls were made. But on the other end every time someone touched a Fort Meade player the whistle blew time and time again. Fort Meade ended up winning the game with lots of help from the referees.
After the game there was some heated discussion between the Warriors coach and the head referee. Coach Banks made it clear that his crew cheated his boys out of this game by calling a terrible game. The Warriors saw something in Coach Banks that inspired us to know that the only thing we need to do is play basketball and let the coach deal with everything else. I looked at the players after the game and even though we lost the game we didn’t argue at each other or walk out of the gym with our heads down. Instead all I could see was a group of guys ready to play again, ready to go to practice, ready to lace up our shoes and get back to basketball. Fort Meade, you guys played a great game and I can truly say that both teams gave the fans probably the best game this season. If the Warriors continue to build this type of chemistry of playing good team ball and depending on each other to win then ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
During the game Andre Hall said something in the huddle and I quote, “Hey guys I know we are down, but lets get back in this game together and don’t take it upon yourself to do it all……LETS PLAY TEAM BASKETBALL!” At this point I saw the transformation from a team of individuals to a team of BASKETBALL PLAYERS willing to die for their Battle Buddy! This is a battle people, a battle where only the STRONG SURVIVES!

BULLDOGS WE GOT YOU!!!

The performance of Brian Hill for THE LABTECHS in the last three weeks has been OUTSTANDING. He is averaging 50 points per game. I don’t think that Walter Reed has WITNESSED this type of success since the year 1909 when this great hospital was founded. When you see this guy play you will be shocked with every three pointer he hits. One after the other, they just keep falling into the basket. Many scholars call this phenomenon “DA ZONE” but I will call it the “O ZONE” because Mr. Hill's game is in the stratosphere.

But THE LABTECHS have built a solid unit thanks to the BEST COACH IN THE LAND, Coach Banks aka “MONEY IN THE BANK.” The coach knows that the core of the team starts with the BIG MAN on the inside and he surrounds him with excellent talent. Even though Coach Banks lost one of the key ingredients, swingman, Joel Cavanaugh, aka “C MURDER” he has still built a very competitive team. Every year THE LABTECHS search for a solid point guard and once again we have landed a very good one without a doubt. Mr. Buoy aka “NO NEED TO WORRY, I GOT IT” is controlling this team like a remote. His knowledge of the game and decision making in distributing the ball allows us to score at will. Then you add in several key role players and it’s CASH ON DELIVERY!

One of the most improved players from last year Mr. Corey Chaplin aka “C SQUARED” is finding out that he can find good shots within this offensive system. Coach Banks has stayed with him from day one and believes that he will cause some matchup problems in several games to come. We will be without Mr. Chaplin for the next two weeks because he is going on a well needed vacation (bring me back something lol). But the biggest surprise this year is the new additions of Mr. Brooks. Mr. Brooks aka “SECURITY BLANKET” is probably the most versatile player on this team and maybe the entire league. Then you toss in “THOSE BANG BANG SHOOT UM UP ALLERGY BOYZ” and our team is complete.

Before the Game the team got together and talked about how much fun we are having playing under the direction of Coach Banks. The team has dedicated this season to our hardworking Company Commander and we promise nothing but excellence for the entire BULLDOG NATION!

MY LIFE: BEFORE THE LEVEES BROKE

Being a part from you has gotten the best of me. And I know in life there are no guarantees. Every time I look in the mirror these weary eyes tell me more than words could ever say. Too many times we keep going on when the end is drastically near. We keep pressing on without regard of oneself or the individuals around us. Although some things may change and others stay the same, one thing is for sure time will wait for no one. And like time one must move on.

I wonder sometimes where you are and will you ever come back. My heart tells me that you are not far and I will see you again. But when you have given your all to only realize that you went blind a long time ago and it is gone. You look deep inside to find out where you went wrong but in the end the answer was right there. Why did you have to go away, why did you leave so soon? I don’t understand why you left, wasn’t I good to you? I did everything that I was supposed to do. Didn’t I? You were so good to me for so many years and you mean the world to me. And at this point you just walked out of my life without saying goodbye. You broke this old heart of mine into so many little pieces. What am I going to do, living my life without you?

I remember holding you so close as if you were a part of me. I gave you everything you needed and more. With every key stroke it seems like I am going places that I have never been before. The tranquility is now misery, will this disharmony ever leave. You let this one BEING break us a part. I thought that you were better than that. I thought after the hard work that I put into this relationship would help the foundation stand for years to come. I dream of you almost every night, eager to open my eyes and you will be there. But as soon as I wake my nightmare begins. And I wait to return home, to live inside my dreams.

If I would have just looked at the signs maybe I could have escaped before the rain arrived. Before the flood came and washed away everything dear to my heart. Before the winds destroyed everything that I hoped to love and that which I grown to love. The only thing left is to just pick up the pieces and move on to another LIFE.

NO BIG FACES, ONLY CHANGE!

Well the new starting lineup is out and a few of the regular starters have played their way onto the BENCH! Yes, I hate to inform the entire NATION but SMITTY is now a bench warmer! But I am not by myself, so just take a minute and clear your mind because the next player who will be sitting beside me, you are not going to believe. ARE YOU READY! The driving force behind the offense Mr. Bobby aka “SGT HIGH FLYER” will be off the bench as well. The starting shooting guard, Mr. Wooten aka “Its Lonely at the Top” is sideline by injury. The starting point guard Mr. Q aka “BURN SLOW” is sideline. So I guess you are wondering who will be starting now and here is the lineup:

Point Guard a 4 foot 2 inches, 110lbs (w/boots) – B. Hill aka “I Live for the 3”
Shooting Guard – M. Monroe aka “White Mike”
Small Forward – L. Boulware aka “BEWARE”
Power Forward – G. Cannon aka “P.K.” (Patapsco KING)
Center – A. Hall aka “DA BIG HAUSS”

So what is the new direction that the coach is trying to create? Maybe he wants better shooters on the floor? Maybe he is trying to open up the inside? The pressure will be on the PF G. Cannon, who hasn’t lived up to his potential thus far. During the offseason, there was a lot of upside to his game and everyone was ready for him to don his Warrior jersey. But if he doesn’t stop playing as if he has been living on Mars for the last month or so I assure you that Coach Brian will have Cannon’s seat ready! Maybe we should give B. Hill the green light because when he plays for the mighty LABTECHS no one has stopped him yet! It is good to see that Boulware has found his way into the lineup. Right now this team is like the Phoenix Suns we don’t know if we want to run, slow it down, or just play good solid defense. We should take a page from the LABTECHS and put the pedal to the metal and RUN, RUN, RUN! (Mental note: the assistant coach for the post team is the head coach for the LABTECHS…. Marinate on that one!)

So what is left for the rest of the team? As for me, I HATE COMING OFF THE BENCH!!!!!!! But if this is going to be my new roll then I will embrace it like a TRUE LOVE! I am eager to see how everyone adapts to these changes this weekend. We play two home games against McGuire Air Force Base on Saturday (3pm) and Anacostia on Sunday (1pm). The entire nation has been promised change and I guess one may say that CHANGE has finally made its way into the WARRIORS STARTING LINEUP!

WHO WILL BE THE LAMB?

I think it is time for the Warriors to come together and WIN IT ALL! I am asking each member to look deep inside and let us come together as a cohesive unit. We have put our coach in a tough situation since the preseason. And if the coach is reading this, I WANT TO BE GREAT! So what is it going to take Warriors? It will not be another disappointing season! The SACRIFICE, the surrendering of everything as a team is the only answer. The SACRIFICE and understanding that we all have to SACRIFICE to get the job done is essential to VICTORY.

So where do we begin on the road to redemption? Maybe we should start at practice to build the character of this team. I for one haven’t been committed to practice for a long time now. I would tell myself that I am getting a better work out by just doing it myself. But the one key exercise that I am missing in my own conditioning is that of building team unity. Yeah I love going to the gym individually but if I want to win I must do it with my team. Coach, I think that we all have heard your voice when you said that you will only be a part of a GREAT team, not just a talented one.

Who will step up and be the leader that we need to align our strengths and cast out our weaknesses? Who will step up and be the leader that we need at practice? Who will step up and command from the front and not the rear? Who will emerge as the BACKBONE of this team?
And finally, who will be the last man to say that I contributed to the BEST Team that the WAMAC has ever seen? WILL IT BE YOU?

There is a BROTHERHOOD that is being built with this team and the only question that remains is……….. WILL YOU BE A PART OF IT?

"GIST" AN INTERVIEW

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to speak with a member of the Fort Meade Basketball Team. I have to say that Mr. Gist is one of the most HUMBLE players that I’ve met in a long time. He is a laid back individual but on the court a true assassin. When speaking with Mr. Gist aka “G- MONEY” I had to keep my rage under control, lol. To hear him speak of my WARRIORS was startling at first but as the conversation/interview went on I grew fond of him. G-Money knew all of our strengths and weaknesses! AMAZING I TELL YOU! I hate to say it but he knows a thing or two about basketball.

First, we talked about how his team always ends up victorious against the WARRIORS. G-Money spoke of the lack of a killer instinct that is missing from the Warriors. He pointed out the last game, in which they won against us, and how we were up most of the game but inside their huddle they knew that the opportunity for them to seize the game would come. Basically, their main objective was to wait for the mental breakdown of our team and then they executed their game plan to perfection. G-Money talked about how on the defensive end they would wait until our primary ball handler Q aka “BURN SLOW” would exit the game and then they increased the pressure. To think of it now, every time he was on the bench, Fort Meade went on a run to close the gap!

Secondly, we talked about how our best player is our weakest player. You might be thinking how this is so, but wait I will explain. Mr. Driver aka “SGT HIGH FLYER” is indeed the best talent that I have seen in a long time and the sky is the limit for him. G-Money did note that they keyed in on him because his defense isn’t as good as his offense. Fort Meade exploits this match up every time. Attacking SGT High Flyer disrupts the Warriors flow on the defensive side of the ball. It is demoralizing to see the best player struggle to stop his man on defense allowing each team to just trade baskets. Subconsciously we begin to get down on ourselves causing the natural disaster of this team. Instead of buckling down on defensive end, the Warriors begin to argue, playing into every opponent hands. G-Money did say that there is no answer for SGT High Flyer but they will continue to allow him to score and focus their attention on the disruption of their challenger’s team chemistry!

Thirdly, we talked about one of the veterans on the Warriors, Mr. Lance aka “BEWARE”. Mr. Lance is one of the most underused, underrated, and underappreciated players on the Warriors team. Even though he has been gone on different missions in the past two years, the coach has to find some way to get him involved consistently on both ends of the court. G-Money has stated that Mr. Lance plays the best on the ball defensive and you have to respect his jump shot at all times. Maybe the respect that many of the opposing players have for Lance comes from his years of playing pickup games at the Field House. I can say that when I first saw him play he impressed me with his knowledge of the game and willingness to JUST SHOOT THE BALL! Maybe Lance hasn’t found his place on this young and undisciplined team.

It was good to sit down with one of Meade’s finest players. Even though we battle each other on the court from time to time we both find the time to sit and talk. I must tell one of G-Money’s secrets…. HE MAKES THE BEST SWEET TEA and HOT WINGS you will ever taste! You can say he definitely gets busy in the kitchen as well as the court. And just maybe, just maybe he will whip up something for the WARRIORS, lol.

Your smile is my Sunrise; Your Kiss is my Sunset. MY TRUE VALENTINE

As I sit here tonight I can only think about how grateful I am for HIS LOVE. Considering this is a blog for the love of the game, and since this is the start of the month of love, I thought I should spread some love. Yes HE LOVES me, when my broken heart just won’t keep still HE Still LOVES me! Even though I might not reach my full potential, HE still LOVES me! If only I could love as HE LOVES, then my life would be so much easier. Sometimes we get involved in our daily rituals and we forget about HIS LOVE, but yet, still HE LOVES. And when the night becomes still and we begin to look at all the mistakes that we have made, only then do we see how much LOVE HE has had upon us.
HE understands us, because many people will change from day to day but HIS LOVE still remains consistently throughout. Even though we are unworthy HE still LOVES us. The only time I find true rest is when I think of HIS LOVE, because everything that I need HE is. HE IS LOVE. When I am broke, HE LOVES. When I am sick, HE LOVES. When I am weary, HE LOVES. And when I am able-bodied, HE LOVES. But sometimes my love isn’t always on HIM. My heart becomes dominated by worldly things and my vision cloudy. I search for things of the world that will fade away in the end. I pray to keep the understanding that HIS LOVE no man, woman, boy, or girl will ever match.
Some of you have told many in previous years, that you will love them forever and didn’t live up to that fallen promise. A man’s love will diminish, just as the sun sets out to bring us darkness. But the night will pass and the sun will shine once more bringing hope of yet another day to love. And while the dew is still on the rose and I still have strength in my body, I want the world to know that I truly LOVE HIM. Once you have looked over your life, I assure you that you have surrendered to HIS LOVE a time or two. Some day each of you will become thirsty and no worldly beverage will satisfy your thirst. In the next couple of weeks leading up to the big day of love, just think about the LOVE HE has given and be thankful of what HE has done up to this point and everything that HE will continue to do for us from here until eternity……. Now That’s LOVE!

Just a Lil SOMETHING, SOMETHING This Football Weekend!

The matchups in the WAMAC League will be great this weekend. Here is the list of games to take place this weekend:

Sat 1-31-09 - 1:00 PM @ Ft. Meade, MD -- Fort Meade (N) vs. Quantico (S)
Sat 1-31-09 - 3:00 PM @ Bolling, DC -- Bolling AFB (N) vs. Anacostia NDW (N)
Sat 1-31-09 - 3:00 PM @ Ft. Belvoir, VA --Fort Belvoir (S) vs. Walter Reed (N)
Sat 1-31-09 - 3:00 PM @ Ft. Myer, VA -- Fort Myer (S) vs. Fort Lee (S)

Fort Meade should pick up the win against Quantico, if they come to play as if they are facing the Warriors. Fort Meade doesn’t play great basketball against other teams, unless the opposing team is full of great talent. Only then will Fort Meade elevate their game to an All-Star level and play like the defending champions. Walter Reed travels to Fort Belvoir and should pick up the victory. Another good one will tip off at Fort Myer and features the only undefeated team in the league, Fort Lee. Some say that Fort Lee has a shot of winning it all with a very talented and deep roster. Please don’t take Fort Myer for granted, because Myer beat Fort Meade earlier this year on the road.

There will be no games held on Sunday, because of the Super Bowl! Even though my Ravens got put out in the AFC Championship Game, we still had a fantastic year. I will keep it in the AFC North and give my approval to the Steelers! But honestly I think the Cardinals will give them a go. After Sunday, BASKETBALL SEASON will officially START! SEE YOU ON THE COURT!

MY LETTER TO THE DAY WALKERS

Dear Day Walkers,

I would like to apologize to my teammates for not showing up to the bronze trophy game. After losing to Fort Meade in the first round of the MLK Tournament I was so disappointed in myself. I let my team down because this entire weekend I haven’t been playing good basketball. After injuring my collar bone in September I haven’t been the same player on the court. I have been shying away from contact in the paint, because I am afraid of another injury. Our team needs another “Chairman in the Paint” to help the BIG HALL! I was once a solid double double guy on any given game day but now I just settle….. playing not to get hurt.

I thought about just walking away from the rest of the season to allow my body to heal properly but “I LOVE THIS GAME,” and I cannot see myself sitting out for more than a game or two. Besides that, just think, if I don’t play what will I blog about? When I look at this team I see only my brothers (including you Monroe) and feel as if I owe them more than what I have been delivering. At times when I look at each of you I remember my friends back home (Ryan, Lord Byron, Quavo), the guys I grew up with, and I smile. Even though we have all come from different walks of life, the military has given us the opportunity to enjoy this game of Basketball as a collective spirit. And it breaks my heart to play this game with less than 110%.

To the Head Coach, Mr. Robinson aka "Da Wizard" who is trying to make BOYS into MEN even if the water seems to be running dry. He always preaches about becoming MEN and then playing basketball. I can truly say that I have rejected his guidance from day one not because I dislike him but he is more like a father figure than a coach. I regret that I have never had the chance to actually get to know my real father and just seeing another man care about a group of so called men, struck me awkwardly. I told BIG HALL one day that I thought something was wrong with coach because his heart it just too big lol. Just think, we begged the sports director for this coach and now that we have him…… what’s the next excuse?

I don’t know if sleep deprivation has made me insane or if this powerlessness to effectively clear my thoughts has made me write so much lately. Whatever the case , I am becoming a night owl, a real life Vampire Bill and this blog is showing my TRUE BLOOD!

KEY INGREDIENTS: Purified Water, Malted Barley, Hops, and Warrior YEAST!

Now where do I begin with the taste of defeat in my oral cavity? I feel as if the air has been taken from my lungs and the room is just getting smaller and smaller. We lost to Fort Meade again and I believe this was the final blow for the Warriors as we know it. Right now I beg each of you reading this blog to think back to a time in your life when you were at your best. A time where the things that you did made you feel free and kept your spirits up. Simple things like playing basketball, talking on the phone, or just hanging out with friends was all that you needed. I guess the joy that was, is no more! As for me basketball was a place where I could just be FREE, and just enjoy this unproblematic game. I don’t feel that joy anymore in basketball b/c Fort Meade has stripped that joy from this aging heart of mine.

Can you believe that the Warriors lost their concept of what it means to play basketball? Yeah we look great on paper but this entire program has the game all wrong. We are a team that only wants to play offense. Does anyone including myself know what DEFENSE means? The entire tournament we stressed all the wrong things when the answer was right there, DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE! Does scoring 25 points and allowing your man to score 25 points mean you had a good game? Does dishing out 10 assist and turning the ball over nine times mean you had a good game? Does showing up at practice everyday on time and then getting into the game and doing absolutely nothing, mean you had a good practice? Many of the Warriors including myself will be better off just sitting the games out and searching within ourselves on whether or not the love for basketball that we once had is still inside us.

Only God knows if this team will make it through a full season. It has been only four regular season games played thus far and the odds are against the Warriors. Another wasted year of a very talented team which seems to be fermenting like a nice cold HeinkenBeer! Fermentation, which involves the process of energy production in a cell under anaerobic conditions, the process that will make or break this team. Without oxygen is how I see it! There is no air in this team! But on the flip side, that malted barley ended up in your glass without oxygen and you loved every last drop of it! So with your next draft make a toast to the Warriors and hope that the brewing of this year’s team makes it to the tap!

THAT SEAMAN SAID PRACTICE!!!!!!

You know working 3rd shift has destroyed my sleeping pattern. I am off of work tonight and I just can not sleep, so I decided to BLOG. Okay the MLK Basketball Tournament kicked off today and I might say that the Warriors didn’t look that good. Even though we got the “W” it didn’t feel like a win. After the game a player stated that we all need to start coming to practice. I thought to myself didn’t we just finish practice; we all know that our practice is during the actual game. The only time that we have enough players to get something done is at game time. So what are we going to do, hmmm? First of all, every member of this team is a part of a military branch, and like they say "the MISSION comes first." But should we use this as an excuse? As for me I haven’t seen a LES for basketball so the MISSION wins!
Our next game will be against DEM BIG and BAD Marines……..OH NO! Let me tell you this no one in this league is as physical as these Devil Dogs. I don’t think they like anything but pain, pain, and “MO PAIN.” The last time we faced DEM Marines, we took them out of their game early, taking away there big man which allowed us to implement our game plan (a less physical one lol). But believe me; these Marines will be ready to play, as if their life depended on it. To my fellow Marines READ MY LIPS, “I NEED MY COLLAR BONE!”
The Warriors did receive some good news last night; the better half of the “Twin Towers” will dress in our next game. Some of you might be wondering where he has been, where did he go, or better yet, is he still alive? He will be back to help us win this tournament and hopefully be the key piece to the chemistry that we lack on this team. I can’t believe that I just said a member from the “Twin Towers” brings chemistry. These two remind you of the Greek gods, Hades and Ares, and if your Roman, Mars and Pluto anyway you look at it, pain is what these guys are about. And this kind of toughness is what we need. Although the last MLK Tournament that saw a twin participate ended in two technical fouls, a deuce to the sky, and a big ole WOOSAH!

It’s more in Life than Just Basketball…. I HOPE!

Congratulations! Mr. Obama on becoming the 44th President of the United States of America! I must say everyone but FOX News is excited. I had the opportunity to visit my hometown a couple of weeks ago (a BIG shout out to Goldsboro, NC) and saw first hand this excitement in my own family. My family is crazy for President Obama. I can not remember anyone in my immediate family talking about POLITICS. Well, I take that back because everyone talks about how bad the 43rd one was lol! My mother loves President Obama; she gets excited just to see him walk across any stage (how disgusting). My wife always talks about how much “SWAG” President Obama has and I hate it lol. If Hillary would have won and I talked about how much “SWAG” she has, I might not live to see tomorrow! All of this love for President Obama has made me a believer that he will bring change; well at least he has in my family.
I am eager to see how the world will change in the next couple of years. The economy, the war, my TSP account, and better yet FOX News will they all get any better. Will this one man change it all? Some compare him to the late and great Dr. King and the dream that he had, or IS President Obama THE DREAM? Sometimes I wonder if some of the people in this world that hate for no particular reason will ever wake up and live this DREAM. A DREAM of love for one another regardless of race, gender, or any other thing that may divide us. To all my people, like Kevin Garnett, would say, “WHAT YOU GOIN TO SAY NOW?”
http://ballhype.com/interstitial/?next=/video/nba_tv_s_new_kevin_garnett_commercial/

To the Entire World or maybe to the one or two OUTSTANDING individuals that will view this blog…….LET’S BE ABOUT THIS DREAM AND WIN TOGETHER!

PS.. President Obama the Warriors are in need of a Shooting Guard. You got my vote to play! lol

The Fort Meade Massacre

A Massacre is defined by Webster’s Dictionary as the following:
1: the act or an instance of killing a number of usually HELPLESS or UNRESISTING human beings under circumstances of atrocity or cruelty.
Any of you that might think that the usage of this word MASSACRE to describe a basketball game is a bit too much… well the performance by Fort Meade against The Walter Reed Warriors could also be describe by any of these words:
Butchery, slaughter, annihilation, and my personal favorite BLOODBATH!
The only thing that the Warriors did well on this day was to arrive on time. Okay let’s take a deeper look, at the tip off Fort Meade jumped all over the Warriors; it reminded you of a Mike Tyson fight, where Tyson would just knock the crap out of his opponent in a matter of seconds. I don’t know if the Warriors, were afraid or against the ropes because they indeed got ravaged over and over! Not taking anything away from Meade, the Warriors forgot to bring their A, B, or C game on this day!
As for the Mighty Fort Meade Patriots, they showed everyone that they are still the team to beat in the WAMAC. Every member of this team contributed and played inspired basketball. One thing for sure; if they keep shooting the “3 Ball” this damn well, another championship trophy will find its way up the Baltimore\Washington Parkway. And with the icing already on the cake, the coaching was that of a Phil Jackson’s championship team (Bulls, I hate the Lakers).
This upcoming weekend Walter Reed will be hosting its MLK Tournament and hopefully for the Warriors sake…. Fort Meade will come up missing! All eyes will be on the return of Bobby Driver, who missed the Meade game last week. Coach B, will have to focus his attention on building unity with the Warriors in victory and defeat. Will the Warriors find a floor general this week to keep them in line? Or will the Warriors just settle for being a team of individuals with talent and no chemistry? WHO KNOWS!

Varsity Team Starts Season

The Varsity Men’s Basketball Team here at Walter Reed started the 2009 season with two very impressive victories this weekend. The first game of the weekend Walter Reed faced Fort Myer, a team which matched up very well from the top to the bottom of each team’s roster. Walter Reed jumped out quickly, pushing the ball and playing great defense that allowed them to have a 14 point lead at the end of the first half. Fort Myer played their best ball down the stretch causing several turnovers and forcing Walter Reed to deviate from their game plan. Big Man, Andre Hall, went back to work on the inside and hit five out of six free throws in crunch time. Behind the play of Hall, Walter Reed escaped with a 77-72 win.
The final game of the weekend was against Bolling Air Force Base. Walter Reed corrected many of their mistakes from the previous game and focused primarily on the defensive end, holding Bolling to only 40 points. The bench of Walter Reed scored 49 of the 76 points, allowing the starters some much needed rest. If Walter Reed plans to make a run at a championship, each member of this talented roster must play their best. The big test will be this Sunday against Fort Meade, a team that only lost one game last year. The Warriors will be without their highflying swingman, Bobby Driver, who is out with a foot injury, a critical blow to the teams’ offensive strategy. We hope to see the rest of the Walter Reed Family there cheering us to a VICTORY!
