AND YOU THOUGHT THE ECONOMY WAS BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If this was politics, congress would send WRAMC a BAIL OUT PACKAGE for the Warrior Basketball Team with both republicans and democrats agreeing by a landslide. The Warriors are on a downward spiral and will eventually hit rock bottom if this stimulus package doesn’t reach the Walls of Wagner in time! Last weekend the Warriors faced Ft. Lee and Quantico. The Warriors traveled to Ft. Lee and came away with another close victory winning 69-65. The buzz within the team is that even though we win the games we are not playing as a team. This concept showed its ugly head against the Devil Dogs on Sunday. Quantico had only one thing on their minds and that was to beat the Warriors. The Warriors came out on a mission behind the play of Lance Boulware who ended up with 12 pts, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals by the end of regulation. The Warriors went into the half up 38-33.

During the second half the Warriors breakdown started with turning the ball over. The Warriors had a grand total of 18 turnovers and shot a miserable 55% from the free throw line. The Warriors swingman Bobby Driver suffered a game ending head injury leaving the Warriors to find another offensive hero to carry them in crunch time. Driver ended up with a game high 16 points while grabbing six rebounds. The offense for the Warriors was in disarray but was helped by the play of Sean Clemmons who scored 10 points in the second half and overtime. The Warriors were up by three points but Quantico hit a lucky three pointer sending the game into overtime.

In overtime Quantico continued to dominate with physical play. The Warriors seemed mentally fatigued and could not find any offense from big man Andre Hall who finished the game with only nine points shooting a miserable 25% from the field. Collectively, the Warriors field goal percentage was less than 43%. Down the stress starting point guard Quantarius Burns missed some key shots and added some crucial turnovers as well. Burns finish the game with 12 points, six assists, four turnovers, three rebounds, and one steal. The marines of Quantico physically and mentally overpowered the Warriors, winning in overtime 82-78.

Coach Banks has challenged this team to look deep within, questioning their loyalty and commitment to the team. Banks emphasizes that a warrior is defined as a person who shows or has shown great vigor, courage, or aggressiveness, as in politics or athletics. The Warriors are the best dysfunctional winning team that WRAMC has ever seen. The Warriors will hit the court this weekend against Ft. Belvoir (away game) on Saturday and Bolling AFB (home game) on Sunday with both games starting at 1pm.

The odds will be against the Warriors with two injuries to Michael Smith (shoulder) and Bobby Driver (concussion) who are both among the teams leading scorers in almost every game. Will the supporting cast of Michael Monroe, Joel Riley, and Phillip Buoy be able to elevate their games to the next level to help the Warriors win? Will Coach Banks be able to tame these toxic assets that curse this team? It is up to all of us to help the Warriors get back on track because at some point in time we will all NEED TO BE BAILED OUT!
